Long days at work, busy home life, kids need to be all over town. How is it possible to make time to do a workout? You don't have 45-90 minutes? No worries! All you need is 10 minutes. A recent article in mens health magazine looked at a study comparing a group who performed 10 minutes of high intensity interval training vs. a group that worked out for 50 minutes straight. The study took place over 12 weeks and found that the two groups both improved VO2 max and saw similar decreases in fat percentage. (They BOTH got BETTER!)

You don't have to kill yourself in the gym for hours on end to see results. The most important thing for long term success is finding things you enjoy and to start making healthier and smarter choices each day. The biggest mistake people make when it comes to working out or eating is jumping in head first at an unsustainable rate. Don't get me wrong, this does work for some people, but the more likely outcome is BURNOUT!
Don't fall victim to the burnout cycle of being all in for a few weeks and slowly phasing out. Try building yourself up at a slower pace. This helps with retention and decreases rates of injury. This model is more sustainable and has a much lower rate for injury and burnout.
Start with 10 minutes a day of exercise. Something that gets the heart rate up and is enjoyable. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park further away from entrances. Cut down on the number of non H2O drinks per day. By making several small daily changes you can quickly begin to regain control over your health. Start small and build up.
